Wow! Did you see that fireball?!: Galileo, the Space Cat, loves observing meteors and beautiful constellations from his favorite blanket.Get Out Your Favorite Blanket! It's Leonid Meteor Shower Time!
To those who have access to a dark sky, the Leonid Meteor Shower is coming up Tues, November 17.
It will be exceptionally beautiful this year as it will a moonless night, making the most of the dark skies, and the meteors will streak across the sky shared by Mars and Leo. Earth will cross over a comet debris trail at 3 AM Chicago time. Each hour we expect 20-30 tiny comet pieces (averaging the size of a grain of sand up to pea-sized) hit Earth's atmosphere and burn up as a meteor... also known as a falling star.. or shooting star. Then Earth will pass through another, even better DOUBLE comet debris trail... and China will be treated to 200-300 per hour during Chicago's daylight/China's nighttime hours.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to StarPal MIKE... Kinda cool to have a meteor shower extravaganza every year to celebrate your birthday! ~ From StarPal Galileo and StarPal Audrey
